Savaia guest house features a verandah that's ideal for relaxing in the breeze.
Savaia is located on a gentle hillside about 3 km from Kokoda Airstrip. Excellent tracks make for easy walking from Kokoda airstrip or Foke.
Vanilla orchids grow wild in forest next to the village. An excellent creek offers an idyllic place for a refreshing dip.
Accommodation consists of a sturdy, thatched guest house that features a handy verandah to relax and chat.
There is an elementary school. A small trading store stocks basic items. The village also runs a succesful fish farm.
Activities
• Climb to the village gardens (about 25 minutes), from where the entire Kokoda valley is visible.
• Crafts such as bilums, beads, building houses.

Cost
There is an all-inclusive* charge which includes shelter, food, porter, walks, activities, etc.
*Not included is traditional dancing, which costs K250 per performance (split between the audience). Performances must be booked at least two weeks in advance. [ Why?]
